Annually, grants will be awarded for teacher applications that best meet specific priorities and goals for the year. Grants are for direct instructional expenses such as equipment, tools, materials, and other instructional aides. Competitive grant awards are up to $2,000 per individual classroom grant, and up to $4,000 for collaborative grants. Up to $5,000 for special support needs, such as assistance for students who earn an opportunity to compete in a national level competition. The first grant awards were in the spring of 2024 with awards for implementation in the fall of 2024. The Shallow Ford Foundation manages the grant-making process and facilitates the team review process. Feedback from the reviewers is collected and supplied to applicants to aid in future applications.
